If you put a YZ 250F engine in a 250R frame and raced it in the blaster class you would be unstoppable!! Would they let you race with that motor in that class?? Has anyone see anything like this??tHAKNS!!!!!!!!

Pointless and a waste of money. It wouldn't be legal in the class anyway.

Why would it be it not be allowed in that class?? it says 200CC 2-stroke or up to 350cc 4-stroke. It wouldnt be a waste of money if you were a serious racer. For example this kid down here in Texas named Thomas Brown he rides a blaster and he is crazy fast. (He is out right now du to a broken arm) ad I think he is 12 or 13. He somtimes rides his dads 426. he can stand on the kick start and that thing wont go down because of how much compression it has:D I think that if you were a searious racer it wouldnt be a waste to you but no offense man ;)

Oh hmm I was just told by a friend that it would not be allowed to run in the blaster class because it is liquid cooled. only air cooled quads. oh well it was a good idea!!:D

The rulebook used to state "the crank must be ATV based". Does anyone know if it still says that?

The YZ250f is a dirt bike motor with you know but im pretty sure that you can not run a motercycle engine in that class. Its alot of money to do this anyway. I would take a yz450 motor and through that in the R frame. Now their are certain classes were the motercycle engines are not aloud to run in.

you can run dirt bike engines in that class because kids here in texas run YZ 80 and CR 80's in the blaster class

The rule at the GNC nationals is "air cooled". The YZ engine is water cooled, so it would be ilegal for the 200/300 aircooled class. The class is supposed to be changed for next year. The word "air cooled" is going to be dropped so that the Mojave can be run in the class. But, there will be added the wording for this class only, "no motorcycle engines in this class".
There is nothing in the AMA/ATVA rulebook about crank from a ATV at the present time.
