running two mater links???

ok so i am in the process of doing the 450r swing arm swap and needed to shorten my chain. i mistakenly took one two many links out. rather than buying a new chain, a friend suggested i run 2 master links. i have 2 questions.

will i run into any problems with this type of setup? will it weaken the chain too much? has anyone done this before?

also where should i put the second master link? should i put it all the way across from the first one? will it even matter where i put it in relation to the first one?

I know people have done it before, I would have to assume it's weaker, but should be ok.

I'd suggesting running them inline with each other. I'm also hoping you are only 1 link short so that maybe when the chain stretches a bit you could easily remove the second master, although I'm sure it will be fine.
