winwood,

Let me start by saying, You need a service manual as they take you step by step through jobs like this. I prefer factory manuals over clymer or haynes as they are written better and have better pictures. You can buy one from fleabay for under 30 bucks, money well spent. when you change your clutch be sure you soak the fibers in gear oil for at least 12 hours before installing them or you'll be changing it again. I usually use a ziploc bag for soaking the plates. good luck and Roost On!!

nope. just take the old plates out and the round wire circle in the back, oil up your new plates and stuff and put 'em in. then, adjust the little nut. you should be able to loosely put a nickel between the perch and the clutch lever. while in gear and the clutch engaged, it should roll like neutral. check your gasket too. just figured i'd try and clear anything up for ya. oh, and watch for that ball bearing!
