ok, I have a fuel atv intake on my kfx450 and I noticed some fine dust in the intake tube. To me this is BAD. Is this unavoidable or is there a way to prevent this?
I"m thinking about switching back to the stock filter housing.

do you oil the filter? if not clean it and use paper or w/e k&n ismade of air filter oil. it grabs every particle of dust. try that first

Get the Recharger kit from K&N it comes with a cleaner and a can of oil. Use that, make sure that when you install the filter back on the intake that its has a 100% tight no leak seal. And yea^^^ use the outwear of course.

yes its oiled, and I do use an outerware.
It could be coming in around the seal, cause the filter doesn't go on all the way down to the end of the flange, theres like a milmeter gap all the way around. But when clammed down I would think it would be air tite.

The filter should go all the way down and you need to position the clamp at the end. Got any pics?
make sure the filter is cleaned and oiled often and you have an outerwear over it. Also when putting your filter back in use grease or a seallant around the part that goes into the intake boot and then clamp it down all the way.

The filter doesn't go on far enough to sit agains the box. theres like a 1 mm gap beteen it and the end. The filter wont go all the way down.
I think the gease might help though
