One of my best friends has a 2002 Golf GTI with the V-6 and leather, sunroof, big wheels and manual tranny. It is fast has huge room inside, seats 4, I'm 280 and it feels better than my Intrepid inside. It can tow 1430 lbs with a 175lb tongue weight (I'm trying to talk him into a quad:devil ). Very nice car cool blue lit guages. This may be my next car.
Honda are good cars but kinda rinky-dink.

Prelude - I used to have one and those things handle great - low and wide and fast....they stick to the road like glue......although that one does look like a girly car.

Get the Prelude if you must have one of these... Then get the Greddy Turbo kit designed for Preludes.

I had a 89 prelude and my wife has a 97 right now,it is nice.It is fast for a 4 cylinder [195 hp]and handles awesome. All my friends who have VW's all had a lot of problems.I'm talkin about 2001 and newer jetta's[4 of them] and a cabrio all had major problems [2 of them are almost lemons],but my friends diesel jetta is doing good. How can you beat honda quality for the money.

I have worked on both proffesionaly and can say with out a doubt that the Prelude is a better built car, and cheaper to fix and maintain than the VW. Why dont you get a '97-98 3.0V6 Accord coupe with leather and a five speed? Very nice car and not a hard for a kid to insure as the lude or GTI, because it isnt "trendy"

1.8T GTI = Cheap power!

Its capable of over 350 horse power on stock internals. That would be my choice.:D

dont get me wrong i love the vr6 corrado and had a semi modded 95 glx vr6 5 spd passat

but in 15k miles and 4500 in warrenty repair on a car with 55,000 on it when i sold it

F-THAT

new power steering rack
new abs unit
sunroof
back window cause defroster went
new leather seat heater
alarm(dint get this fixed)
always ran hot(might have been chip)
grinded into second unles 100% perfect shift
door locks 3 times
ignition 2

sweet to rip around in heated leather

i used to put all the windows down, sunroof back

crank up the seat heaters and turn the heat on and i would get hot

used to f with stangs and other rides

the p-flow(k and n set up) made it sound SOOOO cool at 4k rpm

i loved racing people, they didn't know what the **** was going on. .cracked me up

0-60 in 7.00 aint bad for the four door, hahahaha

people would ask WHAT YOU GOT DONE TO THAT THING MAN

p-flow,p-chip,cat back

nut oh

the cat back was 3 inch but had 2 mufflers so it wasnt loud just flowed really well

fun car i will admit

had it to like 128 if i remem correctly

hey maryland dont go with the greddy that kit sucks. go with a drag gen 3 it kicks ***. also dont get either. if you want a fast car that still looks pretty good is a crx or a del sol base model so insurence is real cheap then you take out the motor and put a b20b or b20a in the car(for those of you that dont know what that is its a 2.0 liter motor.) use the vtec head on it, and put the drag kit on it then you should be running in the low 13's maybe mid 12's if done right plus you can still put a body kit on it and some other stuff to make it nice for the same price as a new lude or gti and be better looking and alot faster. but out of the 2 get the lude. accually it depends on what you wanna do with it.
