View Full Version : 08 Or 09

So I have been awaiting the release of the new 09 LTR450 and it is finnally here. I just want to know if it is worth spending the extra money on the 09 or just save the money by buying a left over 08 and using the saved money to upgrade stuff on the 08. Let me know what you all think.. Thanks for the input.

i'd say just go with the 08 mainly becuase there isn't that much difference other then the colours and subframe. The 09 is a few hundred bucks more msrp too i think.

09 has better shocks, new ECU programming and cam profiles, new countershaft in the tranny, and something with the swinger! id buy that one!

Sorry but the Suzuki site needs to be updated....cuz it says the same exact thing for the '08s

I'm pretty sure its the same as an '08 engine and suspension wise.

ya, the 08 got those changes, the 09 is exactly the same except for the subframe and BNG. if you see a leftover 08, id go for that

No,,, Its the same as the 08.. Your reading the Suzuki site and the 08 and 09 have identical specs. They haven't done anything to the bike other than the subframe now being Aluminum and that is a minor thing and then the Hand Grips. Oh, the tires are changed up a little. Same everything else though.

Thank you all I really appreciate your input. I am currently in Iraq so I can only go off what the forums and sites say. After reading what everyone here had to say I called the Dealership and they had 1 Black 08 left over.. Which is the one I wanted(color wise).. So with that said I will be saving about 1400 by gettin a brand new 08 instead of the 09. So come December when I return home it will be waiting on me :).. along with a decent amount of parts to put on it.. Thanks for your help guys..
