After market variator

Is it normal for an after market variator to show less belt travel than a stock. My stock variator has good belt travel but when I put a Polini variator on i get about a 1/2in from top. is this normal ?

you might have to change rollers, the roller ramps maybe different if you have a steep ramp yu use heavier weights if it has a shallow ramp you use light rollers that maybe your problem IMO try a heavier roller to see if that helps. check your ramps on both then that will tell you. thanks

I dont have any heavier rollers. have to wait until they come in.
