Question for you 400ex guys?

I rebuilt a 2007 400ex for a guy and I run fine for awhile, now it ticks in the valve area, adjusted the valves didn't change anything, so I read in the book that the decompresser might stick so I took apart and it seemed to be fine, put it back together same tick, any suggestions?

all hondas tick as long as everything is adjusted ur fine...check the timing chain tensioner it could be worn and slapping internally...or the chain has stretched and it is slapping bc it doesnt have enough pressure

yes they do tic but u no the difference

how bout chain tensionor bc mine ticked forever then it went out and figured out it was it.......max out and chain guide was hittin it makin it tick

I did notice when you rev it up the tick goes away, and I know they tick but this is louder than normal, I will check the timeing chain

check the cam chain for play. as well as the tensionor. mine ticked and it was a streched cam chain. i fixed it rode if for another year passed it off and picked up a 450r. :p
