HMF slip on
they cost less than a e series and you can get them different colors or you can get it polished for an extra 20 bucks and then if you want a head pipe you can just get a white brothers e series works head pipe.
that is the set up i am going to use after chistmas(that is the setup i am going to use is hmf silencer works head pipe and k&n power up kit) it shuld rip

FMF Megamax

FMF Megamax does wonders for the 300! I run mine with the quiet core insert, which seems to be restictive but it actually boosted the bottom end and didn't seem to hurt top end performance at all. and I use only 6 disk!

My gf has the WB E-series and headpipe on her 300ex and it woke the bike up big time. I have heard on many occasions that the LRD pipes work best on motors that are pretty modified (porting, big bore, etc).

white brothers, fmf seems crappy, i had one and sold it for the white bros, there well built too, and they polish up nice

im getting a WB E seris PROMEG. get that. more power. that WB looks sweet too. if you race or around no one you can get a end cap to make it even louder. im getting that to for when i go to MX tracks. let them know a 300 is rollin in. you can get a quiet insert thing too. also heat deflectors to keep heat from plastic. more discs for more power also. looks great

=best pipe for 300 IMO

oh 269 for silencer
116 for headpipe

ROCKY MT. ATV= the best price for the WB

well i just went the cheap way out because i can't see spending that much on stuff when i don't race, so i bought a Power Core4 and i like it..

Dude, get a White Bros. e-series pro-meg! It is the best pipe I have ever seen for a 300/250! It sounds great, extreamly tuneable, looks good, verry well built and it is fairly afordable(sp?) also. Get the slip on for now and a good jet kit and K&N filter with outerwears cover and you will have a great increase in power all through out the power band. I have one on my x and let me tell you it was my best investment yet. White Bros. e-series pro-meg has my vote!! Good luck in your pipe search! Later...

Oh man I just read over that and it looks like something a mag. would write. lol

ive got the hmf slip on combo with white bros head pipe on my 300 and i love it! i also have k&n filter and stage 2 jet kit. my friend has a 300 set up exactly like mine with white bros pro meg full system.. and i like my hmf better. seems like it has more torque and response. looks good and is built real well too.

Actually, less disks = more power because the pipe is less restrictive with them on. Trust me I know this for a fact, my friend has a 300 ex with the megamax, when the disks are on, it has no power at all, but it hauls with no disks, same goes for his brothers 400EX and he has the e-series. Take the disks off and see what happens compared to when there on.

Houser Cannondale

that is true from going to discs to no discs at all.. but if you are just subratcing discs.. but keeping them on there it will decrease hp and give more torque.

the hmf fits kind of tight on the white brothers header... i took a sanding wheel and cleaned the inside of the slip on out a little to make it fit easer and also put never sieze on it and it goes together alot easier.

bigbadbrad
12-15-2002, 07:24 PM
so it does fit with no modification just tight?

Houser Cannondale
12-15-2002, 07:29 PM
yep it fits perfectly with no modification at all. just kinda tight.

i think ive got a pic around here somehwere... have to find it.

thanks for the pics keeny that iis what mine is going to look like but i got my hmf in red i might polish my header over x mas vacation if i have the time. was it a lot of work to do?(polish the header that is)

Houser Cannondale
12-17-2002, 02:09 PM
its not hard at all. the header is already smooth when you get it so you dont have to sand it. i just used some fine 3m scotch brite pad and smooted it all out more then polished it with simachrome polish. thats it

bigbadbrad
12-26-2002, 11:52 AM
i got my hmf in man it is noce. i polsihed my header too not that hard at all i used mothers mag and aluminum polish and while i was at it i polished my 6 pack rack and nerfs it looks blinging now all shiney
oh yeah kenny did you use your stock clamp or did it come with one? and the header and slipon fit perfectly

Big Gun

E-series has an annoying, non-agressive tone and the disks rattle.

12-26-2002, 07:18 PM
Hey the wb e-series are a really good pipe and i got one on my 300ex and they dont make an annoying sound and it sounds a heck of a lot better than the big gun on a 300ex becuase my friend had one and the wb really woke it up. and it sounds awsome:D

hmfs are great if ya race, there a bit loud for around were i live but and engine builders pipe is gunna ack in the hp way more than a main stream pipe, but the mainstreams are quieter, and gives it a the low grunt like its got a lot of power, if ya live int he open, i would say get an hmf, plus there like $150 for the slip on and the others are $250 and get the header, the 300 has a narrow restrictive header

as for the disks, they dont rattle at all if ya use loc-tite and the more disks the more power theres more room to let the air excape fast, the less disks give it low end

Houser Cannondale
12-27-2002, 10:16 PM
for a mainstream exhaust system, i like mine alot. my best friend has a 300ex set up like mine his has white bros pro meg full system and power kit mine has hmf pipe and white bros header and with power kit and i think mine pulls harder in the low and midrange than his does. the hmf is pretty loud but for low and midrange power cant beat it. ;)

thanks kenny for all the help. I got mine through recreation unlimited and it took me a mounth to get it in, and on top of that they sent me no hardware and no clamp also. They ripped me off. I sent an e-mail to hmf and they are sending me out the clamp and hardware and stuff.
thabks again kenny

ohh thats no good... ive heard all good about hmf's service. my local honda dealer doesent carry hmf but theres a cannondale dealer next door so thats where i ordered mine and it came in two days... sorry about the luck but sounds like your getting what you need from hmf. good luck :)
