rear clutch

i noticed in the rear clutch there is rubber pads under the tips of the shoes. they seem like they are causing the shoes to have resistense when opening. Does it help to remove these? I dont mean the rubber o-rings on the swivel of the pads.

we never run the dampners ,i dont think they hurt the opening of the shoes but possibly the closing..either way it doesnt hurt to remove them..
