i'm doing a valve adjustment and the crank will not stay at the "T" mark. i don't know why becasue i did it on my 300 and it stayed fine. how can i keep in the right spot? it seemed as though it was right and i adjusted them to .005", and when i fired it up it rattled like friggin' crazy again! if it doesn't stay in the required position, the adjustment won't be right. this really pisses me off. please give me some tips.

hi.

Both cam followers should be floating when the T mark is on and the piston is on the compresion stroke.Did you take the spark plug out or the compresion may be moving the piston back down . try rotating the engine anticlocwise 360 degrees. are you using the T not the F mark? is the bike running well exept for the noise or your cam may be misstimed ? good luck

it runs fine. it just has the noise. i'll try taking the plug out and doing it, so it has less compressin. thanks for the tip.
