In the future I would like to go with a 416 11:1 piston. I know this has probably been discussed in another post but, do I need to run HD studs and a HD timing chain with this setup?

i was just talking to a guy about this and he said no that u only would have to run hd studs and timing chain with the 440 kit not the 416.
but you might want to check with someone who is a little more educated on this

yeah thats kinda what i thought too. I mean its probably a good thing to do anyway but is it really necessary? I dont want to completely tear town the whole engine and everything.

I'd atleast buy a CRF cam chain for it, you wont need hd studs with a 416

The crf cam chain, is it from the 450? Does the year matter?

Yea its from a 450 dirt bike cam chain, year doesnt matter I bought an 02 one. Should be around 30 bucks.

you dont have to do anything but if you can afford it go for both, piece of mind and restoring the reliability of stock

Is there a way to change the cam chain without taking the clutch cover off?

Either one you should be able to run premium pump gas so thats why I am going with the 11:1.

You'll have to run straight 93 but you'll be fine on both as far as pump gas.
