Well with the 440 its HIGHLY reccommended that you get a HD timing chain and HD studs. I would go with a 416 cause it revs quicker, makes nice power and is cheaper cause you dont have to buy all the HD stuff and you dont have to have the cylinder re sleeved.

I think you can get the 416 kit off ebay and it comes with gaskets for like $150-$160 if I remember right. For the 440 its going to cost you well over $300.

Youll need a mchinest to bore it then run a hone done through it. Your average dealer doesnt have those tools.

my local Honda dealer isnt that big at all, at least their showroom isnt but out back they can do almost anything they even have a dyno. The one Honda dealership south of me has a test track

i got a 440 kit off ebay with everything brand new including a cylinder for 300. just needed a hd timing chain and studs but i never got the studs and the chain was like 30 bucks. havent had any problems yet i tore it apart the other day to check my studs and therer good so far. i didnt have to hone my cylinder and resleave because it came with the new cylinder but most cost about 70-80 bucks to releave and hone.
