I'm thinking about getting it too. Might just be worth getting an aftermarket carb thats more than 43mm though for even more power. I'm just seeing what will fit.

Buy an 07 CRF carb from Service Honda and have Chad at DRG taper bore it. Best setup for a 450R. Chad has a flow bench and can test it to make sure it gets proper flow. I had this setup on my Honda and it was great. On a fully built motor it can add up to 3hp. You can also have Chad get the carb for you.

Chad,
Have you finished those carbs for Daryl Rath? I might have to send you my KTM carb and see if you can improve on what Sparks did. i have a feeling you'd be able to :D

Great. I'm going to Tulsa with him and Frank Batista this winter so I'll have to ask him how he likes these carbs.

correct me if im wrong but you can use any year 41mm fcr but when chad did mine we went with the newest style fcr that was out at the time wich was an 07 for less bogging off idle. but i gotta say i got the DRG built motor before the carb and goin from stock carb to the taper bored fcr was amazing.:macho

Yep, any 41mm FCR will work it just seems the 07 CRF has given the best results. The stock 06 and up TRX carb will work bt the HP gain isn't as good from what I've been told.

You can't taper bore the 04-05's but 06 and up will work.

You'd have to ask Chad about that. Yes, you can use either of those carbs on an 04-05. You just need a Noss adapter for the airbox tube.

As long as the carb is an FCR style carb, I can machine the throttle body larger.

To fit the FCR on the 04/05, you need the TPS wiring harness of your stock carb and a NOSS billet intake adapter to get fitted and machined with the carb.

hotrodbelair, thanks. your #1 in my book! No really, you really are a Champion! LOL!

I also got my motor done by chad and had the carb taper bored and the performance of this quad is awesome. Chad's work is top notch!
