Need Help Splitting the cases on a CRF

I have it just about to split, but i need to know how to get that weird nut off on the clutch side of the balancer shaft.

I believe they call that a spanner nut. You can buy a special socket, but I have always used a flathead screwdriver and hammer.

the screw driver thing didnt work out to well. is it a right or left hand thread?

i persuaded it to come off with a pair of vice grips, and it didnt damage it any.
