View Full Version : Broken clutch lever/clutch perch

I bought my 400ex used, I now know MSR makes crap clutch levers.

I seem to have an msr raptor lever/perch. After playing around with the idle/fuel screw I went for a ride and the stinking lever broke..It apparently has 3 adjustments and the stinking lever just snapped where it would hold the cable in those settings. Also where the adjustment for the cable goes into the perch is stripped..argh..

I cannot seem to find a replacement perch anywhere and I really dont wanna go to the dealer.

All I want is a decent OEM like or aftermarket that will stand up to some abuse. Seems rocky mtn only carriers MSR junk and bikebandit has nothing. Can I put stuff that isnt noted to work with the 400ex on?

are you still using the parking brake? if not you can use whatever you want. i have an asv from a 450r

Yea, the parking brake assy isnt there and I wouldnt want one anyways.

I cannot afford the asv right now so i did find a universal MSR "AOF" that comes with perch and lever from rocky mtn.

In about 3 months I will drop the cash for an asv brake and clutch.

If anyone has a better, and somewhat cheaper recommendation I am up for it.

not sure what the msr costs but you can get asv new off ebay for like 40 bucks

I looked, all I could find was this one guy selling them for 62 bucks + 12 to ship.. I got the MSR for 30 with lever. For now it will do

isnt there a leaver thats better then asv but has the same concept?

sunline has a multidirectional breakaway lever now. they are made very well and look great. 5 year warranty.
