Now that winter is coming soon i was just trying to see how much i would need to do some stuff to my quad (Since im a poor college student )
I am mechanically incline so i will be doing everything myself.
complete redo head (valves, valve seals ext)
450 timing chain (which one is it again)
should i get a new tensioner to while im at it
Stock bore 11.1 piston + rings (what Brand)
should i get hd studs???
I might get my lower end checked out in case it needs to be rebuilt how much is it to be rebuilt vs buying a hd one.
all gaskets needed
hotcams (stage 1 or 2)
I already got a hmf slip on
Clutch plates and HD springs (what Brand and price)
also what jetting do you think ill need and how much is it for a jet kit.
It would be very helpful to know how much this will cost hopefully not to much.

Yea a used 650 motor why would i do that when i have a decent 400ex motor it smokes at high revs thats why I want to do this not just for power.

valves and valve seals - not sure
piston and rings - $250-$300 for a wiseco or JE
the timing chain will be for a crf450r and idk wut they cost.
cam will run you about $250
the clutch kit will be around $200 and i would go with barnett
i wouldnt buy a jet kit. i would go with OEM brand jets...im not sure wut jetting you will need.

Some of those prices are a little high.
Piston and rings for 11:1 - $120- 150 (JE, CP, or Wiseco)
Stage 2 cam- - $150-200
Cam chain -$30
8 plate clutch from gt thunder- $212 (plates, springs, gaskets, and new inner hub)
New valves from kibblewhite - around $35 each
New valve spring kit - around $100
Valve seals - around $6 each
Having machine shop instal - Around $50
You should be fine with the stock studs on 11:1.
I also say dont get a jet kit. Get a 42 pilot and 155-165 main jets

I see even stock 400ex smoke at high revs. Check your oil level.

my quad is stock and the oil level is right where it should be and i dont realy care I just want to build it i know i could leave it and it would run for years but i want more power and after thinking it over i might do a 416 cause the only difference in price would be getting it bored

I say do a 406. it will give you a fresh bore, Its not really a noticable difference between a 416 and 406 and you will still have two more bores on the cylinder.
