snorkel removal

I was lookin through dirtwheels and came accross the nacs airbox plug, it says its to keep water out when the snorkel is removed. I'v heard of people doing this, does it gain any power? Will the 400 plug work in mine?

It doesn't gain any power. If you remove the snorkel and keep the airbox lid on there you definately don't want to plug the snorkel hole! I ran no lid and no snorkel for a while but I don't ride in deep water so water wasn't an issue. I have since gotten rid of the airbox and just run an open element filter with an outerwears.

if you have a 300ex the 400 plug wont't work, the 300ex uses the frame as it's snorkel
