I am getting ready to do a complete rebuild on my engine, I know the head is going to need seats and guides. Have any of you ever done it? Is a tough project to tackle.
Any of you guys have any tips?

If you need guides and seats you may as well buy a new head for the money. Unless you payed for an exspensive port job it will be cheaper to get a new factory head.

It's a job you don't want to do yourself. Best to take it to someone who has a cutting machine and the proper equipment to press them in and out. There are a lot of speciality tools involved.
