it could be becuase its a 15$ RK standard chain but im just wonder why do i have to adjust my chain after pretty much 3 hard laps, if i got 10 hard laps it is sitting on my swingarm. it is a 2005 TRX450R with stock gearing but i put a 13 tooth on for arena cross. any explanation would appreciated thank you

if it is a "race chain" they stretch out pretty fast.

check your carrier

next time you tighten it, mark or just look at the positioning of your carrier. Then go out, ride and come back. See if the carrier moved. I doubt you are stretching the chain that much. Your links would be like 3" long.

I'm with Sjorge on this one, the carrier must be turning.

If the 4 pinch bolts on the swing arm are tight there should be no way for the carrier to move. That thing is clamped in there good when you tighten the bolts.

cheap chain.....ud be suprized how fast a reg. non o-ring chain wears out...

if its not that then the carrier is moving or the bearings are bad letting the axle move back and forth stretching the chain

I really doubt a chain can stretch as much as he is explaining.

agree with marking the carrier. That will tell you the problem immediately. Manual says 15 ft/lbs or torque. I've gone to 20 ft/lbs on mine. I had the same problem.

BTW, I just recently replaced my stock chaing from my quad that was purchased in January of 2006. I literally ran all of 2006, 2007, and 7 months in 2008 on a stock chain. I suffered the same problem you are mentioning though. The carrier was slipping.

EITHER THE CARRIER IS TURNING, OR CHAIN IS STRETCHING BUT AS YOUVE DESCRIBED IT YOUR CHAIN WOULD HAVE ALREADY SNAPPED IF ITS ALREADY STRETCHING THAT MUCH FROM SUCH A SHORT RIDE.STOCK OR AFTER MARKET CARRIER? THAT CARRIER SHOULD BE TIGHTENED IN THERE! UNLESS YOUR CASING 90FT HHHAAARD EVERY LAP. SOMETHING IS MOVING, IF CARRIER IS TIGHT AND YOU MARK IT RIDE AND IT DOSENT MOVE ID GET RID OF THAT HUNK OF SHI* CHAIN BEFORE YOU BREAK YOUR CHAIN WHILE YOUR BOMBING AND SEND THE CHAIN THROUGH YOUR CASE! rEMEMBER A CARRIER CAN ONLY GO SO FAR BEFORE YOUR AXLE IS BACK WHERE IT STARTED.....HOPE YOU CAN TAKE SUMTHING FROM ALL OF YOUR POSTS LOL
