what a good motor to swap into my 400ex maybe a 600cc sportbike motor? which would be easiest?

The high-preformance one to be exact.

The xr650l is the low-tech aircooled. The 650r is the liquid cooled beast.

both are beast of motors! the air cooled one is like a sleeper it looks so similar to the 400ex motor if you never owned a 400ex you probally couldnt tell the difference from looking at it.

That black one is sick though the yellow one is also nice. I've always been a fan of the yz swaps or crf swaps into the 400s lol.

But I dont think I would want to do a yz/crf swap. At that point I would just buy a 450r/yfz.

The 650r would be like the 700xx's more sexy, better handling, SRA stepchild.

Well yeah but it depends on how much you love that 400 to whether you make that real switch into the new bike or not lol. Plus i love the 400ex looks and i love hybrids so it would be my style. I already have my 450r so i cant do it lol

na, its not like a 600cc street bike engine. this is just a very torquey and smooth pulling engine. think about a raptor 700.. same concept.
