i believe that means usually your valve seals. they leak oil when its sittingand it drips onto the valves then when you start it it burns off and doesnt smoke anymore

Yeah, its definitely your valve seals. If the smoke continued after warm up, it would be piston rings.

correct me if im wrong but i thought white smoke was condensation, and the light blue smoke was oil burn?

How bad is it to run your quad like this?

If bad what does it affect and how?

My bad! I totally missed the "white". Sorry. EX LONERIDER is right (I think). How often do you ride it and how bad does it smoke?

its probably oil he just mistaken the color i think white smoke is coolant and you don't have to be worrying about that. i wouldn't worry about it its probably valve seals just keep riding it

white some us usally anti freeze or over heating. but its doing it of start so my guess would be oil leaking but i missed the white part so id say dirty gas or mosture.

yea... i was thinking about that....... early in the morning i get white smoke in my bike but mostly due to the moisture in the air and the hot exhausts fumes mixing in the air will cause that.

could be condensation in the canister built up as well. also, if it was oil, you'd have the distinct oil burn smell.

i wouldnt be to wirred about it in winter when we didnt have rrom in the shop for my quad i parked it in our shed without a door just roof and 3 walls so it was cold and i fired up my 400ex and it smoked white until hot i didnt even think twice jut thought because it was so darn cold but it must of been because of moisture.
