I was looking for some help?

I Just bought a 01 trx400ex, but after it warms up it blows smoke as I give it gas. It has oil I just put some in it, and it seems to runs great, great acceleration and runs smooth. Any ideas as far as the smoke. My buddy says not to worry just make sure it has oil in it.

Sounds like once the valves or rings seat it stops.

You may be fun now but later you might want to find the source of the oil in your combustion chamber, these things never get better/ fix themselves.

Yeah I kinda feel the same way, have any idea where it could be or where to start looking?

nah not really

tear the topend off, hone it, put on new rings, take the head apart clean everything and install new valve seals.

simple job, i recommend a clymer manual if you don't have one already

actually I do have one, but I dont know if that's a job I want to jump intoor at least right now. But I appreciate all your advice, being as it's still new to me I just want to enjoy for a little while before I tear it apart.
