i tried searching for this but i think i am going to be trading my brothers 2006 250 recon for an 2004 450r. are there any known problems 04's have? it runs, and doesnt smoke has all of its gears. ill be taking it for a test ride tomorrow.

sometimes they throw cranks, but other than that they are as reliable as it gets

alright thats good. i think i am making out pretty good on this deal, its my friend that i am doing the trade with. he had gotten it for his girlfriend cause it was there and the right price but its a little high strung for a new rider ha! he put new brakes all the way around, new clutch lever and cable, he ordered new tires for it. the only thing that is wrong with it is its missing the hood and has a crack on the right rear fender but thats no big deal.

well its a done deal. the 450r is mine. and i have to say this things rips! i was expecting an improvement over the 400ex with the couple mods on that but this thing is awesome, huge jump in power.

also where is a good place to get plastics. i want to keep the headlight and the front fenders but i need the whole set all they way around. i here laker custom is good, what about maier or other companies. also with the new plastics im going to need a graphics kit of course, what are good companies to get those from. my friend has factory fx but im not fond of those.

i would say that the best place to check is ebay (for both plastics and graphics.) When my plastics break, i just get stock ones that people have pulled off. Maier is pretty good, if youve got some extra money for them. The graphics i cant help you out too much with because its all personal preference. I remember there being a huge thread where everyone posted their graphics. Ill do a search for it.
