What year is my girl's Blaster

I just picked up a Blaster for a hundred bucks that a guy had stored in a barn. It starts and runs and has all stock plastic and graphics on it. I was wondering what year it is? It is white, with purple and pink graphics and a purple seat. It also has purple wheels. Any ideas?? Im thinkin like a 91-93 area?

the year can be found out with the VIN number. located by the shifter, on the frame. just need the first few digits to figure it out.

The serial # starts out : JY43JMA

The 'A' in the Vin is for year 1990.

Mine is a W in that position. What year is it?

your vin is interesting. 2XJ would suggest 1988, but the W is 1989. i would say a 1989.

W =1989
A =1990
B =1991
D =1992
E =1993
F =1994
G =1995
H =1996
J =1997

not all letters are used, i see yamaha avoided C and I.

All this info is in the Clymers Manual. my clymers is from 97 and i don't have info for any models after 97.
