If i switch out my stock 04 swinger for a 07 or 08 that is an inch longer do I have to get the newer linkage also??? Right now I have an 04 with GTThunder XC link.....thanks

Yes you would have to get a new link from gt if you switched out the swing arm.....

He is correct. The linkage mount on the swingarm is in a different location. It may bolt up, but the geometry may be off. Also there is only about a 3/4" difference in length between the two.
