the ktm 525?

Has anyone riden one? my buddie went to the dunes and it was a stock 525 with haulers and it was killing everything??? just wanted to know if it was really that fast :p I wonder my ct piped and camed 525irs vs. it??? i wonder

I have a buddy with one, he KILLED at the sand drags. Only a handful of two strokes were faster. The 525 Outlaw you see to his left is his son. It's noticibly slower than the KTM. (airbox?)

He also pond skims with it and actually does it so well that he can downshift from 5th to 4th and not lose momentum.

I would not race a KTM 525 with my IRS Outlaw. The KTM is 20 too 30 lbs lighter. The Polaris 525s should due better with a different pipe and air box. The air box on the 525s is a very poor design. If i had one for just the sand I would remove the air box and just put on a clamp on air filter.

The KTM comes with a good filter and pipe already so if you pipe and filter that SRA it will should do a little better.

Looks like Little Sahara OK pics? From what I've seen down there anythig that you've got to lean that far forward and not be able to keep the tires in the sand is seriously hooked up fast. Very nice!

The differance in tires would make a big differance the KTM is running Haulers and it looks like the Outlaw is running the ITP sand stars. Night and day differance in hook up.. In a drag race..

I've said it many times, with equal riders they are neck and neck. The sand drag race isn't even comparable. Like said before, Haulers against Sandstars, The KTM has sand front tires for better flotation, the 525s has stockers. The KTM has a pipe, the 525 is stock. Put them both the same, they will be neck and neck. The 525 however is allmost $4000 cheaper tho/:eek2:

I'm with GE4x4, the one has the big 3 mods and the other is stock. Is the outlaw even rejetted from stock? And the stock fronts and sandstars are putting it at a disadvantage as well. THese two should not be compared until set up equally!
