Which one is the best overall bike? I ride at a track and some sand pits.

Thanks

in order from greatest to least... YZ 125-has the best overall powerband cuz it pulls solidly from the bottom straight through, and the best suspension...especially the newer models with the aluminum frame.

CR125 - great suspension, great handling, and a fun powerband, but it is really short and peaky. comes on hard in the midrange and pulls into the top end quickly. i would own one for play riding, but it isnt as easy to be competitive against other 125's with.

RM125 - had a weak engine, and the suspension is sprung too softly for most riders. i didnt like the one that i rode, although it handled really nicely.

i would have to disagree. ive owned a bunch of 125s and still race bikes now. the YZ125 is probably the best overall (especially if its 05+) but id say the RM125 is the next best. the engine isnt weak at all, infact the top end is probably faster than the YZ. the only real bad thing about the motor is it is harder to keep on the pipe than the YZ. but it hits hard and pulls great in the upper part of the curve. all 3 turn great and have their own characteristics about them that may interest you. the Honda is a nice bike, but the motor seems alittle flat compared to the other 2 (although they did improve in the last year or so before they quite making it). lok into the newer ktms too. the handling and suspension may need some tweaking but the motors rip

yz is probably the best overall bike out of them. Then id say the rm. What years?

def. there is no comparison between the new YZ's and the other bikes. the only other bike i would consider after '06 would be the ktm 125sx

sorry i cant help much, i dont know my 2 strokes but....

im guessing your coming off the 150 right? why not go to a 250f if you're already riding a 4 stroke and used to it. theyre the same size as a 125

i would have to say the YZ is the best out of all of them but them CR's are pretty nice too. im acually a fan of the KX more than any of them.

Well i kind of narrowed my choices down to the yz and cr. What ever i can find a better deal on.

The reason for not getting a 250f is cost and complication. 2 strokes are very simple to work as they dont have a valve train and alot less parts. They also require less maintenance , I know they need rings though but thats easy.

Heres a link that shows videos of the track that i ride on. It shows what type of terraihn and stuff il be riding. Would this help with helping me in my decision? What bike would be best for this track.

After some thinking il look into 250f as i can get an 07 crf250r for $4200 otd.

Well i think i made up my mind. Im gonna get either the ktm 125 or 144 sx. The features they have are amazing and love the look of them:eek2: . Plus they are cheaper than the other 125's. I dont know why but i love 2 smokes.

My friend who has been riding all his life, bikes and quads, recently got a brand new 08 yz125f and he says that thing has some serious power in it. Friends also agree that it rips

if you are getting a ktm get the 144 or the new 150. if your get a 125, the yz is better than the ktm

I hope you're kidding.. Ktm and yamaha has the best 2-strokes the stock industry has to offer. If you're racing, it doesn't matter tho, then it comes down to rider.

can any of you describe the powerband at all? On the yz and ktm 125. Where does it hit, does it have decent low end?

they both hit pretty hard off the bottom. i think the yz comes on a little stronger...maybe a little earlier, but the ktm makes more power. the makes three more horses than the yz stock for stock.
