So I went out for a nice ride with my brother and dad. We had a great time. We all have the outlaw. On our way back we were on some open trails so we kick things up and were flying. Well once we stop I look down and the temp light is on. I shut the machine off immediately but i left the key on. Light stayed on for about 5 min. The fan never came on in that whole time. Why is that?

Also shifting was hard because it felt like my clutch was gone. I think it was because the engine was too hot.

What should I do and why didn't the fan come on? Fan came on later after things were cooled down.

On my 08 mxr ive replaced the temp gauge plug twice, they always break off and fail, i glued my last one in and zipped tied it up so it would stay. Also My mxr is starting to get hard to shift, I raced it all year so im geussing the clutches are alittle worn.

If you pull apart the left side engine case there is a bolt on the end of the shift drum that holds this ferris wheel looking thing in place. When the wheel moves because the bolt is loose it will not stay in gear and acts like its in neutral. I had this happen to me and Gallagher told me how to fix it. Pull the bolt out, red loc-tite it and put it back in. Hardest part is getting to the bolt. Hope it helps.

I love the crowsnest. I don't get there to often but that is the best riding area ever. The outlaw was built for the Crowsnest Pass!
