Smile at him and say....
"You prefer the helmet over eating through a straw and having your diaper changed for the rest of your life!"
Tell him you'd rather be out riding than sitting in a chair droling on your self.

Tell him that if you rode like a little sissy, you wouldn't need to wear one either.
Ask him if he rides the short bus

do the intellegent thing and ignore him. Any comment from you is fueling his fire. If everybody ignored him, I'm betting he wouldn't say these comments.

" you can either keep your brain inside the helmet or all over the place, what would you prefer? "

I dont have a comeback for this and by no means am I saying dont wear a helmet. But a close friend of mine was in a quad accident before and wasnt wearing a helmet. He was closed lined by a steel wire and the doc said if he was wearing a helmets he would have been decapitated!!
Gotta love the idiots that thinks helmets serve no purpose.... They obviously never smacked their head hard enough to relize that.
I learned a hard lesson about not strapping up your helmet while riding..... That thing can fly off like a cannon and leave you knocked out for the count.
Cut in front of him while hes riding and spit some rocks/roost in his face :o ;) .. Perfect example of other reasons helmets and googles are used for.

tell him to suck one?
If it's a young kid just say that Indiana Cross-Country Racing association uses the AMA and ATVA bi-laws and under afore mentioned charter you must conform to the standards under 29CFR 1910.26 the Proper Protective Equiptment standard states all riders must wear amongst other gear, Helmets. So it would be stupid for you to practice without a helmet as it would not mimick actual racing condtions.
At that point he will be so lost he won't have any comeback.

Telling him to suck one is probably the best one. Or they are called brain buckets and you guess it would be pointless for him to wear one. Personally I would grab my helmet by the mouth piece and smoke him in the head with it and then ask him imagine how that would have felt if you would have had one on.

My response to that:
"Go p.iss up a rope. Oh, and the only reason your mom told that helmets are stupid is because you were an accident and she hates you.."
I'm not very nice to dumbas.ses like him, and I would get banned for my other comments. lol
My helmet saved my life, this is in the middle of the inside after a horrible accident..

haha, this kid has obviously never rode on a track or through woods with other riders, where dust, dirt, and rocks fly in your face.
what i would do...is put your helmet on, head butt him in the face and ask "did that hurt?" and when he says "**** ya it did!" u can say "i feel fine" lol, that would be awesome!

I'd tell him to keep on doing what he's doing and not wear one .... it only helps to weed out the dumbasses.

You're right, it does get in the way of the rocks, trees, and other high speed impacts. And, do you really think it makes me look hot? (bat eyes)...
Had a freind who thought like that, until he broke both cheekbones and ripped his nose off of his face (litterally) when hitting the gas cap on his quad after a bad landing at the dunes, followed up by 4 plastic surgerys. A MX helmet would have netted him a broken visor, chin vent, and a headache.
Or you could jsut start calling him Johnny Statistic.
