is there anybody that can give me a description of how much to retard the timing on my 06 yfz. I here that it is 4 hp. that is definitely cheap hp. any help will be greatly appreciated.

the exhaust cam gets turned clockwise one tooth.

From the factory, one of the differences between the bike motor and the quad motor is the exhaust cam timing. By doing the "Cam Mod" your basically putting it back to the way they are in the bikes.

ah ic. so it lets more of the compression out at a more beneficial time? less restriction?

If I remember correctly the cam mod gives the bike more mid and top??? I may be wrong on that but I think that's what it gives. I did it and didn't like it so I set it back. I felt my bottom end suffer a tad. It will help in terms of performance but 4hp is really stretching it. I'm sure with a built motor it'll help or hurt the bikes performance depending on what you're trying to get (Low, mid, top end performance). I'm a bottom end guy ;) .

i am more of a bottom and mid guy myself. thank you for elaborating
