i am looking at upgrading to a 450 and im not sure wat would be better the suzuki or the honda

i have always been a hardcore honda guy but i have heard good things about both quads so im up in the air with this decision

i race motocross and i no the suzuki is wider stock and i like that but i have heard the honda has more torque

i am a bigger guy so i kinda want as much torque as i can get from the factory so im just wondering what the better choice is
would appreciate everyones opinion thank you

I have had both....and I wouldn't give you a nickle for either one. The Honda has way more bottom end than the LTR. but the fuel injection is really nice. Neither one will handle like a 400EX. The stock LTR doesn't handle worth a crap. I had GT Thunder XC a-arms on my LTR and it handles much better. But you are doing MX. I will say the Honda is a better all around quad. And I would buy the Honda over the Suzuki. And if you are buying new the Honda is cheaper

MX isn't as much about power as it is handling...

I think an LTR450 with some front and rear boingers, with the normal pipe/EFI Controller/Cherry bomb/Intake would do wonders for you.

My only concern in your situation is size.. I have heard the 450r feels much roomier than the ltr, while the ltr feels kinda small.

So the best way is to really ride both and see which you like best.

plus check out the 09 450R's sweet looking let me tell you.

My cousin just bought a 08 450R and its just as roomy as my 08 400ex.

Im 6' 1" at 230lbs.

I'm 5' 11" maybe 6 ft at most and weigh 145 as im 16 years old. Even with me the LTR felt small and cramped. I have an 04 450R and love it. I have plenty of room and it feels great. I would go straight for the 450R.

I felt the YFZ was about as cramped as the LTR =S idk about the 09 but the 08- felt small... The KTM 450XC wasn't bad and neither was the Kawi. But i still feel that the 450R feels the best for taller guys. Though i did love the way the Can Am felt lol.

I'm not a big Yammi fan at all but that new 09' is kinda appealing, except for its looks.

ive ridden a 09 yfz and a 04 trx 450 i much preferred the trx it was way more comfortable and handled much like the 400ex

I hate the YFZ how it feels. The YFZ the seat feels like its at my shins lol of course i'm exagerating but it feels so low and uncomfortable. The TRX feels very roomy and nice.

the LTR has more room than the TRX....I am a big guy. I'm 6'1" and pushin 250. the LTR feels small because the bars are low. but with a taller bar or a +1 stem they are much better.

The YFZ is the best all around bike of the 3. Loads of low end power. May not handle as well as the TRX but if you use the power to your advantage you will be all right.

The mods mentioned above for the LTR are very expensive and won't make it run as good as a YFZ

And a 450R is smaller and more cramped than a 400EX also

I agree with the the other guys..

YFZ ftw.

Great all-aroundness.

For trails, I say KFX450 or 450r
MX- LTR or KTM or Can-am
All around riding- YFZ.

I like my Zuki...

Someone in MX once said...

If you want to have the power readily there and just want to focus on suspension go 450R.

If you want the suspension there and want to focus on the power go LTR-450...

Not saying you won't have to put money into the WHOLE bike, because you probably will end up revamping it all if you get serious into it.

good decison. when you get it you need to work with suspension.

having extra power is nice but not worth a damn without having the suspension to get you through the race.
