today i got bored and decided to clean up my motor cuz it hasnt been cleaned in forever..i used a brush and a brillo pad and some laundry detergent..after an hour of scrubbing this is wht it looks like..

still not the cleanest but its better than wht is looked like before...

Take some maquiers all wheel cleaner comes in a purple bottle spray the whole motor down and let it sit for about 2 mins and hit it with a pressure washer.... motor will look like new and get all of the brown out of the hard to reach spots....

I use the same stuff on my engine once or twice a year to brighten it up.
Though I wouldn't leave it on for 2min, that stuff is strong.

Simple green is useless for stains like that, might as well spray hawaiiain punch on ur engine :P
Good for every day cleaning still though.

wish my 400ex motor was easier to clean, all of the cooling fins i feel like shaving them off lol

I use a toothbrush, works pretty good.

yeah thats what I use too but it would be so much easier if the sides were flat and didnt have grooves like that

or spend hours and hours polishing it lol. :D

after id gotten done polishing my entire engine and head and cylinder, i was told by some racers that that was a dumb choice for cooling :( because the air flows right over a polished surface. instead of the old rough surface acting as a heatsink in a way
