Blew my head gasket after i put my piston in. So i just got another new one. Just wondering if there's anything special i have to like a glue or coat it in oil ect... something like that. thanks.

Makes sure the deck surfaces are not warped in any way. Install to clean dry surfaces using proper torque. Start and warm up bike, check torque, ride bike hard for a moto or two, check torque call it good. Make sure your torque wrench is calibrated and in specs, you would be amazed how easy it is to get one of those things messed up. You should also set the torque and put a bolt in a vice and make it break away twice before using it on the actual job.

CYLINDER HEAD Initial: 25 Nm (18 lb-ft)
Final: 47Nm (34 lb-ft)

OUTSIDE HEAD BOLTS
CAMSHAFT JOURNAL BOLTS
CAM CHAIN TENSIONER MOUNTING BOLTS
10 Nm (7 lb-ft)

CAM CHAIN TENSIONER SPRING MOUNTING BOLT
30 Nm (21.5 lb-ft)

GENERATOR COVER CAP
15 Nm (11 lb-ft)

VALVE TIMING INSPECTION PLUG
23 Nm (16.5 lb-ft)

VALVE COVER BOLTS
Initial: 10 Nm (7 lb-ft)
Final: 14 Nm (10 lb-ft)


*Head bolts and Camshaft journal bolts tighten in a cross pattern.
These are the factory torque specs from the manual. I however always torque the head bolts on any of the motors I put together at 35 lb-ft.
