I thought I read a comment how it was up in the air if the GNCC was going to let the 09 Sportsman be raced? Has anyone else heard anything about this? Is this why Batista was still on the old model?

Thanks,

I am not sure what class it was in but one raced the Snowshoe GNCC in the morning.

Pappy,

Just curious, why would they not let the machine run??? I know Daryl Rath has been running the 09 at the last couple IATVHSS series races.

Right now, there is an 800cc limit in the GNCC series. Ive heard that it will be changed, and I heard that it wont.....noone really knows yet I geuss, if they do they arent really bringing the information to the public. I would geuss that the issue/rule change would have to be taken in by the sanctioning body or group that handles such things for that series.

It is sponsored by Can Am. There was some speculation to that being why they changed to 450's also...... even though the DNF450 is'nt really a contender.

Could Polaris / Rath sleeve it down 10cc's and make it legal?

it is a production class. it has to be a matching frame and motor combo.

legal? not sure? it is legal to bore the motor out to be bigger (as long as its under 840cc.) so why shoudln't it be legal to debore the motor as well.

only time will tell.

It would not suprise me that the lite class will be bumped to 550cc as both Polaris and Yami have one. And I can't see them not bumping the other to 850cc as it is a production engine. Plus it's only 10cc more.

I just read in Quickfill #39 at GNCC website that they DID raise to 850cc. Absolute limit though; 900's aren't gonna cut it.

I heard that both classes have been approved and it will be announced soon from RP. This will make the sport grow which means more $$ for RP, so why wouldn't they do it. It's a win win...
