will the 05 450 swinger work some people say its tight in the pivot area some dont. i think i need something longer to soften up my shock to get rid of some of the bucking if it does fit what other things will i need. will i be able to use the 400 axle, brakes etc.. and how much longer is it

have you tried using screw driver? a few turns with a screw driver can take away a lot of that buck.

Depending if your bottoming out on jumps you can take some preload off. My Axis we had to do that with. Or like Fox said you can turn the compression down. That would be easier and wouldn't change the ride height as much. If it's a stock shock the compression is for a low speed.

Not sure if you done this already but a revalve and/or rear link will be your best bet to get rid of that bucking.... For the 450 swinger tho.... not sure.

your right i do need a revalve and i will probably do that but if i used the 450 shock and linkage would it help me out i know that the shock is longer but im not sure if the linkage is longer too. the ex shock is pretty good but the 450s has to be better and i can get a really good deal. I wont be able to do anything before the next race but i want to get this thing all straightened out for next year cause im not sure how long it will be before i can get a 450

The 450 Swingarm is about the same length as the 400ex swingarm--don't waste your time. The GT Thunder link will require modifications to the subframe, airbox and exhaust.

Send the rear shock off to get revalved, it makes a drastic difference.

I did just the GTT link by itself a few years ago, and it helped a lot with the bucking, of course not as good as with the revalve, but it was still like night and day. Watch out b/c this might soften up the shock too much..lol. Im around 150 and it was a tad too soft but that bucking was reduced about 75-80% I'd say.
Although I've never had problems with the subframe, airbox, and exhaust hitting, it is recommended that these are modified for clearence. I'll just do mine one day if they ever hit.:o

i dont think im gonna get the link because my brake caliper already has gouged my pipe and the rear end is all stock. Does anyone know what weight the stock shock is valved for. I weigh 135 and im geussing its for a lot heavier rider so if i got it revalved it would help me out big time right?
