I have a some what built 86 250R and love it, but Ive been thinking of trying to trade it for a built 426 or 440 EX a 99 to 04 I hate the new body style. Ive rode a somewhat stock 400 (port work, pipe filter, jet) and its got some power. Mostly I play race , fast trails, freestyle, and some MX races. I know they arent as fast as some built 450s but I dont care about that. Anyone want to trade their bike for a 250R. I live in central FL.

Man I would love to get my hands on a 250r but I have way too much money in my 400 to get rid of it.

Not to steal your thread but where in central Florida are you? Where do you ride?

Im in tampa, kinda central from top to bottom of the state but not side to side. I go to Croom, and their is a small legal spot we are slowly building a track on in brandon. And a few other places

Any more Input on if I should try and switch or not

I have a 416ex and a 270r and IMO the R blows it away in almost all situations. The only place the ex stands a chance is if I go for a long ride and need the extra fuel economy. The R sucks about 50% more fuel than the ex.

I live on the other side of Orlando from you right near the bithlo MX track. There arent many places over here to ride...:( As far as switching idk. Your opinion really. I like four strokes so i love my 400ex. Its a great trail quad, a capable race quad, and easy on the pocket book. I have never ridden a 250r so my opinion my be biased and inacurrate but from what i understand, they are a great dune quad, capable mx quad, but parts are expensive.(again from what i hear) My personal opinion, keep the 250r to play on and try to find a cheap 400 for a project...

The only thing it really lacks is A arms and a axle. I just put some 450R shocks on the front and the rear has been re/worked by PEP
And it has 18 MXR4s on the back and some 20 MXs front, the razars are a freinds
