View Full Version : Anybody ever run pyramid and some other brand of reeds?

I've swapped reeds before, I've gone from stock reeds to RAD, I've tried V-force. All good reeds.

But I've never tried anything other than Duncan's Pyramid Reed valve on my 340cc. I don't have it close to me, so I can't answer my own questions (which bugs me to no end).

Anybody know for certain if the reed cages bolt up the same? I think they are the same, but it wouldn't surprise me if Duncan had a custom intake on their cylinders that only fit their own reeds. But like I said, since I don't have my quad close by, I can't answer my own question.

Anybody know? Anybody running V-force on a Duncan PC2000 cylinder, or running some reed setup OTHER than the Pyramid on their PC2000?

I run the 1 Dir Racing reed set-up. Noticed an improvement over the Pyramid. The PC cylinder will accept all 250R reed cages.

the g3 reeds from 1 dir racing have very smooth power but still have all the topend of other reeds.

Any reeds will bolt up. I currently have v-force reeds on my pc2000 cylinder. Are you looking to put v-force reeds on yours and do away with the pyramid? If so let me know im currently looking for a pyramid reed cage.

Just some preliminary work at this point, I plan on experimenting with different setups. Reeds are going to be part of the equation, but I'm also going to experiment with pipes, maybe a new carb.

I did some testing on different things myself. I was running a 39mm PWK, but the 40.5 really made it come to life.

I'm running a 38 A/S right now, I've really been thinking about going larger, and rebuilding my stock motor to a stock-bore drag racer and using the 38mm on that.
