Ordered a new 09' DS 450 XMX trying to research what pipe and mods work?
Running local hare scrambles and a WORCS race now and then.

Thanks!

use the search. Theres been a million conversations about pipes and mods. No use in starting another.

How dificult was it to make it fit ? What did you actually change ? Whats the power like ?

Only reason im askin its because in England a motorworks system is $1400 ( power commander and air filter ) and to buy something from the US would probably set me back about the same with taxes n all .
R1 bikes and exhausts are everywhere so it would prbably be cheaper for me

Mike,
This is Johnny with Motoworks. Your price in England should be no where near $1,400.00. Please call us to discuss different options for shipping. I will make sure that you are taken care of. Also, could you let me know who is charging that price. With the value of the dollar, you should be able to pick anything up from the US very cheap.

I want to mention that Yoshimura also has their pipe for the DS done. It hasn't really been mentioned by anyone yet. Did some testing with it today and was really happy with the throttle response that it added on the bottom end.

any other good info on the yoshi?? im thinkn bout buying it as its the only one my dealer supplies and ive got alot of store credit their. when you say the bottom end power was good, could you compare it to any other pipes?? better or worse? ta

I'm comparing it to the FMF pipe. The Yosh. pipe with the spark arrestor tip in doesn't like to be bogged, and I think the power was pretty similar to my fmf megabomb full system. But when I pulled the spark arrestor out it made the throttle response much better. It seemed to react quikcer on the bottom.
Fitment of the Yosh was so much easier!! It took me atleast 30 minutes just to get the fmf back off, and only 10 minutes to install the new pipe. Came with exhaust plug and a spring puller tool.

im finding it hard to get a pipe for my bike no one is stocking anything because of our dollar problem at the moment, would it be safe for me to go into a shop and buy any pipe say a t4 procircuit of the shelf and have it custom fitted to my bike?? this might sound like alot of work but it will work out heaps cheaper in the long run, to get a bracket sorted will cost stuff all, and i could chop the existing muffler off right at the start of the header, and have the new one welded straight on,would this be ok to do??
