just out of curiosity. i've never ridden one. looking for something for the girl friend. i'm just curious on how fast a 300ex would be with mods such as, exhaust, intake, rev box, cam, port n' polish, and maybe a piston. how fast would a 300ex like that be compared to a stock 400ex? i think a 300 would be fine for her but she clames she wants a 400

A 300ex w/ the mods you listed would be comparable to a stock 400ex.

In all honesty, I'd go with a 400ex. It's an easier quad to ride (less manhandling), smoother power, and a lot more stable on hills and in corners.

ye i agree, with all the mods it would probably have more bottom end then a stock 400ex, I would suggest just getting her a 400 and just get a pipe for it

well the reason why the 300ex is an option is one my dad's mexican friends has a 300ex he'd sell me for $500 bucks. but it would need to be cleaned up a little with a battery and some new plastics.

Then ye I would go for the 300 if you know engine work ok, there darn near bullet proof too, if you hop it up a little it aughta be able to keep up w/ 400s out there.
