In a quad chasis is obviously not as fast as a dirtbike chasis but its still pretty awsome. Very responsive like two stroke zing and pep yet the smooth and controlable power of a fourstroke. Also it was easy to get into the quad frame because it was made for the motor but it was somewhat of a trick getting it out of the dirtbike. Not sure how much it actually cost on a whole but it keeps going up it seems like every week. I just bought a lonestar bearing carrier and dominator 2 for it. As for how it compares to the 440's, well my best friend has a Duncan national 440 kit in his EX and as far as a drag race I have him from start to finish starts out maybe 2 bike lengths and then by the end its about 1 till rev limiters kick in for him and then see ya!! He is also a very good rider about equal as far as skill goes in comparison with me. Now on the track the CRF just pulls out of turns much harder than his. I think I answered all the questions anymore just ask. Thanks for the compliments though guys.

if your askin me how much, i would say you can do it for around 10,000 if you really wanted to because you can sell a lot of the parts and make about 1/3 of your money back, im guessin around 10 in the end, prolly take about 15 to start, i bought a stock 400ex and a new crf im not gonna part the bike out tho, cuz im so hard on stuff not even honda will last, so after next seaon were putting the motor back in the bike, and trading in, and i think im gonna build my own frame too. as far as engine fitting in the ex frame, theres a few trouble spots. the pivot bolt size is bigger on the bike, so you gotta get new engine bushings made, you can put the radiator leaning forward on the frame uprights that the oil tank used to be on, but i opted to do what east coast did and cut them off and make them go straight up and down in front of the radiator. tha carb ends up pointing right at the rear frame tube about 1 1/2" away, so you gotta use a crazy airboot not sure of the part number but i used one off a john deere 410 backhoe (seriously it works) and you gotta get an exhaust custom fitted, and the kickstarter needs an extension. i had a sore ***** after buyin one from east coast for 200 bones then i had to use a yz kicker to boot. im not sure what the guys name is on here but he had a good idea, just buy another knuckle and weld a bushing between, wish i woulda thought of that. bottom water hose sucks, its gonna touch the header, i used a piece of copper tubing and bent it around, but now you can get a cover with different exit angle from americandreammotorsports.com. the top left frame rail needs to be cut off the rear frame tube, heated at the bend, and moved to the outside of rear frame tube to clear valve cover. and last, but not least MAKE FRIGGIN SURE YOU USE A HEAD STAY!!!!!!!!!not for the engine mounting sake, but for frame support, youll have that ex frame in a knot in 3 races if you dont do it. stock ones off bike work great. oh, you gotta grind down the swingarm on laft side to get the motor moved over for chain alignment. the whole thing isnt that difficult, i think any redneck could do it. damm thats a lotta typing.
