400ex rear azle issue..... wobbiling..

i have an 02 400ex with a +2 rear axle. everything wobbles like something is bent. aka the sprocket hub and rear rotor, and if i have the bike off the ground and run through the gears it hops and shakes like crazy). the only thing i can think of is that it may be slightly bent, but enough to cause everything to wobble/sway side to side????????

Definitely sounds like your axle is bent. Put it up on a crate or stand with the wheels off the ground. then start it and put it in 1st gear. You should be able to confirm what is bent. Could be a wheel or something but probably axle.

When the bearings are gone the axle will rock like a teerter-totter inside the bearing carrier. The axle shouldn't slide left and right unless the lock-nut is loose.

ya it can(mine did), if ur bearing goes its usually the inner race, so with it gone ur axle can go in more, thus giving the side to side play
