about a 1987 polaris cyclone 250 4 wheeler

i bought a 1987 polaris cyclone 250 4 wheeler what would make it when it starts up runs good but when left off the gas it shouts off?

Maybe the belt is catching too much?

Maybe the wrong jetting so that once its warmed up its wrong?

my buddy had the same problem. his primary clutch was worn out and he had to replace it. dont know if thats the problem your having though.

We used to have a snowmobile that did crap like that. The secondary clutch used to stick. Starting up and driving around it was fine. Just when you decided to go fast enough to engage the secondary clutch it wouldn't disengage when you slowed and stopped, so it would bog and quit.
