1900:rolleyes: i thought it was worth more than that, it ran really strong and never had any problems. my friend sold a pretty much stock '00 for $2500. yzf was 2900

wow man, id say so too:(

not bad on the yzf though!

i wish i could od the same switch but my quad money is going toward a ranger + goodies for that lmao.

im trying to trade my 110 for a 250f though, had like 3 deals goin on but they all fell through

very nice bike. def tru about them being more challenging. they keep you on your toes...and you gotta stay more alert. i love how much more roomy the bike feels by comparison to the quad. i finally started really getting the feel for mine this past weekend...i was jumping it and really shredding in the corners. i love it. too bad i dumped it (2nd gear...not even in the powerband) and broke my radiator on a rock :grr:

yea that crash i was 3rd pinned around a left turn, tire spinning, very little traction back end flying out to the right and i have no idea how the bike ended up laying that way:confused: i think that rock threw my front end out to the right. all i remember is the back end sliding out and me heading straight for that rock pile:eek2:

thank god for those ASVs, my clutch lever was bent all the way around backwards, no harm done. my first time at the rocket theres an uphill right handed sweeper turn that im pinned around in 3rd and i dropped it there about 3 times, that never feels too good.

I made the same switch, not permanantly tho I still have my quad. I just got one to cross train on but man i hardly ever touch the quad anymore. :blah:

Bikes are fun and super easy to ride compared to quads. I wish I would have never gotten rid of my two bikes. I will be back on one next summer though to cross-train though i'm sure. The stable is getting too big right now though..haha..

Nice man.

I grew up on bikes. Started on a xr80. moved up a Cr85 [hence the name] sold her for the 250r.

missed 2 wheels so i bought this haha. Back when i first got her home.

CONGRATS!

i dont think bikes are more fun, necisarily, just different. i have an RM-Z250 and have been on bikes for the past 10yrs, then finally wanted a quad agin and got the lt-r450 also. i honestly wouldnt be able to choose between the two.

I have thought about getting a bike, it seems if you wreck on a bike either nothing happens to the bike or you crack the shrouds or tweak the bars.

Most my local friends ride bikes and they want me to switch, but im the second best rider around and if i went to a bike that would change for a while, idk if i made the switch i would still want my quad around.

that was my problem. i was hard pressed to find someone who could ride with me on the quad around here...the bike was a different story. by the time i had 15 hrs on the bike, i was hauling around on it, and i get better everytime i take it out.

i give you a thumbs up on it, i still got a quad but its not been rode once sence i bough the bike.

yea, i rarely ride the quad anymore...and when i do i feel like i cant ride and i feel cramped. kinda sux.

i dont think you'll be slower for a long time. first time at a track for me i sucked but now i might only have 5 hours tops on the bike and im faster than some of my friends. track experience helps weather it be quad or bike. also good technique, it feels funny at first riding so far in front of the bike with your elbows up and stuff. once you start jumping bigger you feel so much more in control and also around turns and stuff.

I sold my 300ex and bought this bike. It may be old but man i love it. So much more fun to ride and the challenge of riding a bike really makes you feel good. I think shes pretty haha.

Yeah the whole bike to quad switch was pretty hard for me. i bought my bike on july 3rd. on the 4th i went down on the road doing about 60. got some major rash. then i kept riding. i did a wheelie and it got away from me and i cut my hands real bad. again, major rash. but now i feel pretty good on it, and quads feel weird.

jesseweaver. you look like your doing really good on that bike. is this your first bike?

oh, forgot to add the pic of my bike.

also. i am still on my original levers, bars, radiators. and thats with no asvs, bark buster, or rad guards. not bad i suppose.

yea, first bike. i rode my friends crf450 one time and went out his driveway, pulled it up in 5th and decided i needed a bike. i've had pretty much no time on bikes ever, this is the first time ive ever riden one other than around a yard or driveway or something. i was thinking about going straight to a 450, that was the biggest decision for me. i decided on the 250 cause i knew id be faster on that for a year or 2 then if i want to keep riding ill get a 450, if not, maybe get a 400ex to put around trails.

thats cause you rode a kx125:blah: get some time on a 250f, your mind will be changed quick.

nah i like riding both of them. bike was a better choice for me though. all my friends are on bikes now, riding places are getting closed to quads, quads are way to expensive. plus its a little different and its nice for a change every now and then. im sure in the future sometime ill have another quad

Well this is my first legitimate year of racing quads and i already got my first win and moved up to A, so im getting better and i know if i get a bike that i will go from being the second best rider in my town to way down. So im pretty much at the dillemma to get a nicer quad and keep racing a or keep this quad and get a bike and start to do both, idk.

I'd take my Yz over any thumper. Two strokes are so much more fun to ride and teach you how to feather the clutch. Them thumpers are just boring to ride.:o

couple guys in our local pro class 250s went back to the two strokes, i dont think it really matters but they do good on both.

its obvious that the 4st mx bikes are now better than the 2st bikes. sure, a good rider can win on a 2st but its just easier on the 4st. thats all there is to it. YZ125s are good bikes, i just sold mine 2 years ago when i started buying 4st. besides the fun and cheap factor, my RMZ250 is a better machine than the YZ125. in fact, in our district, 250Fs now go against 250 2st and 125s have their own class. i think the 250 2st and 250F are a good match for each other because where 1 makes up its time in power, the other makes up for it in ease of control, smoothness and less fatigue on the rider.

im in it for fun so thats why i went with a 125 2 smoke. to me there is nothing that is as much fun. i dont think that 250 2 strokes are nearly as fun, though i enjoy them more than four strokes. i love the super like weight and the ability to man handle the bike around and make it do whatever you want.

Yeah, it looks good man, I actually planned on doing black rims if i kept it, or a crazy anodized color like blue or red.
