So if you were buyin a youth quad, for your kid to ride trails and occasionally jump around the track on what would you get???
lookin at used bikes by the way. He rides dirtbikes, and is fine out in the open or on a track styled course, but trails and wet singletrack give him alot of trouble with two wheels. He rode an lt80 and really liked it, but i have heard they don't like water or mud. how good is the trx90, the raptor 80 etc..... he is 8 years old and about #65. he can ride the wifes 400ex, but its a bit to big..LOL!! I really don't want anything with a clutch either.
thanks

My son has a Can Am ds 90x & for trail riding it is a great little quad. We added some mods & had overheating problems but I think that we have that problem worked out. The width & suspension stock is way better than any other 4 stroke out of the box. Biggest knock against them is they are pretty slow stock.

Kyle loves his kfx80 for the woods....that things a little tank. It loves the water and mud. He's always raced e-ton's and now this year a trx90 Honda..... but he will take nothing in the woods but his 80......

thanks I was unsure about the kawi/ suzuki 80. I had just heard a few rumors of belt problems in the wet stuff, but I know one of the bikes was an 89 model, maybe they have changed since then.

If you get into some real real bad water it will get into the case at the belt...... if it will not go just remove the drain plug let it out and a way you go. We've only had that happen once. He raced it at Doublin Gap in a rain storm..... the best pic is 10076...he's standing on the pull bar trying to get up the hill to the checkerd flag.....lol

A Honda TRX90 IMO is the best youth trail bike hands down. Both of my boys have near stockers for trail quads. They thrash the livin heck out of them and they just keep on going.

Our Scrambler 90 did fine on the two trips to Hatfield McCoy thus far. He even rode on some of the blue trails with it.
