my freinds uncle is sellin his 87 cr500 he said he just put around 1 grand of work into it. and he will sell it to me for 500 bucks which i might do just to turn around and sell it. and im wondering also if the newer cr500 plastics would fit on a 87?

Front fender is the same from 83-99 on all full size CR's (up to '01 on a 500), but newer models will fit also, just watch for fender to pipe clearance. Rear Fender fits 85-87. Tank should interchange from 85-87 along with shrouds. Side panels are the same from 87-90.
