good deal????

Hey guys, I was wanting your opinion if this is a good deal or not. Close to were I live there is a dealer that is having problems selling his 08 inventory on the KFX 450r. He has a black one with the red tribal, brand new never even started b4 for a negotiable $5399. What do you guys think? This guy is known for his cheap prices, he has had new 450r Honda's for $4899. Anyways, I had a kfx400 but sold it, and my friends and I do the oppisite of what most people do and ride mainly in the winter. It is now that time again and I want more power!!

New out the door prices usually run $6400 and up. $5300. looks good if it's out the door. I guess you know the kfx450r's short comings. You won't have to do much to make it run tho. Drop the rear sprocket 1 tooth, there is a lot of vibration thru the bars so some type of anti-vibe would help and set up the suspension and it will flat out go fast & ride good. You may also want to wrap the head pipe with some header wrap. It gets mighty hot on the leg. The efi & reverse are both niceties on the kfx over the Honda along with electric start (I assume the Honda he has for sale is a 450r & kick only which is like $150 option.) To sum it all up, the kfx is $500 more than the 450r Honda but has a few more options (wave rear rotor, reverse, electric start, efi, aluminum frame, Renthal FAT-BAR handlebars, wheels have reinforcing plates and a very hard seat) that make it worth the extra $500 in my book. I have spent a little time on one and compared it to a yfz450r in the woods. The KFX was the hands down winner, IMHO.

i just gotta say that when someone asks about OTD pricing just remember that some of us (like me) paid over $7500 when the kfx first came out... and seeing the prices of all the 09 450's, that dont even seem that bad now... so id say go for it

i just picked up an 08 yesterday. should have it home today. $5299 OTD i say grab it while you can.

Just bought a new green one on ebay for 4300 plus 350 shipping. I think anything in the low 5s is a good price. I paid 6450 OTD for my first one over a year ago.

5299 OTD? the lowest around here is 6k otd, most advertise 5500 but hav e 500 dealer prep, we're getting ripped lol when i bought my bike all the dealers were saying they were having a hard time getting rid of the kfx's they were basically the cheapest 450's
