base plate on 86 motor

would putting a base plate on an all 86 motor with a cr 250 head gasket and a decked head, would you gain from this?

nothing to be gained from doing this on an "ALL" '86 engine. it will decrease the crankcase volume and decrease the compression.

what your asling is generally done when using a '87-'89 piston in a '85-'86 short rod engine.
