Ok, stupid question, but you gotta learn somewhere. What does gussetting do for you?

I think it gives extra support where the frame commonly cracks

good question.. it is when u strengthen the frame where it will commonly crack to make it stronger but doing to much will not let the frame flex. which can sometimes mess things up so you want stronger but not gusseted to the point where u can run it over with a truck

Not only that but you transfer the stress to other areas of the frame. I have been chaseing cracks on my frame for a year. Now it is so tweaked that the whole frame is bowed. Time for an Aren's:cool:

Why buy them? They aren't exactly hard to make, just cut some hunks of steel. Most people that have the welder needed to weld in gussets have the know-how to measure and cut. hehe
I thought about dong some trick ones like the spider-webs that Jesse James and some other builders have done on custom choppers.

Approximately 20lbs of unneccessary gussets were removed from my suzuki by the previous owner. Frame is still straight as an arrow!
