Which shocks would you guys recommend for a stock 90 mxr (not LT)? I plan on keeping the stock a-arms. He's not a big jumper, I just want to help him with the rough stuff.

I used Elka's for Riley's 2007 quad. They worked real well and he then became a better jumper.

Hetrick also does PEP, they give a very plush ride ;)

Thanks for the replies. I saw the PEP and liked that they are available in dual rate. Do you think that would make a big difference compared to the single rate Elkas? How about the rezzie, does it make a difference???

I used the Fox Float MXR, it is made for a CRF 50 and KLX 110 but they have extensions so you can modify the length a bit. I used a 1" extension all the way around. the shocks saved us a ton of weight and I could tune them as my oy grew by adding a little air.

I see Fox has a new APEX long travel air shock with a resi and a dual speed compression option.

WE RAN THE FOX AIRSHOCKS WITH THE SPACERS AND THEY WORK FINE FOR A NOVICE RIDER BUT THE DAMPNING ON THEM WAS HARSH FOR A LARGE RIDER. Also the rear shock is from a pitbike application and cannot take the abuse ( foxis good about fixing them but we could not get a month out of the rear

shawn at snyders has a really good apex front end. i've seen it work first hand with a very aggresive 90 rider on MX track. i dont no if his shocks are too long for stock a-arms or not you would have to contact him for more .www.snydermotorsports.net

I don't know who you talked to, but Jim has never been rudeand has always been extremely helpful to us. His shocks may not be the cheapest on the market but in my opinion you get what you pay for.
